Bacchus Marsh Autism Awareness (BMAA) is a non profit parent support group working for children on the Autism Spectrum
It is important for families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders to be supported by others in the community who can share experiences and information.
Our Autism Awareness group will strive to promote awareness and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders within the community.
Bacchus Marsh falls within the grampians region for autism services so most services and events take place in Ballarat. Bacchus Marsh is a good 45 minuted drive from Ballarat and this makes it very difficult for families already stretched to their limit, to attend these functions or access services. BMAA would eventually like to provide facilities such as a toy library (specialist toys can be extremely expensive), book & DVD library specialising in high quality Autism, Aspergers products, and guest speakers on topics relevent to Autism Spectrum Disorders. bmaa.asn.au is also linked to ths website.

Many of us have autistic traits, it is the degree to
which these traits affect our lives as to whether we
get a diagnosis or not. Prof. tony Attwood, Clinical
Psychologist specialising in ASDs
To punish a child with Apergers Syndrome for social
mistakes is tantamount to punishing a child for making
a mistake in a spelling or maths test. Dr Richard
